Colour drenching

Summer is all about colour. “When it comes to decorating, we’re seeing more and more people adopt the ‘colour drenching’ and ‘tonal drenching’ trends this summer,” says Tash Bradley, director of interior design at Lick. “Colour drenching is where one colour is used across the walls, ceiling and woodwork to create a beautifully immersive space.

“A tonal drench, on the other hand, uses variations of the same shade to achieve a similar effect with a bit more depth. It’s a technique that creates a calm, cocooning feel and brings a real sense of intention and design to a room. It works especially well with earthy, grounding colours like dusky pinks and rich brown tones and is perfect for bedrooms, living rooms or even hallways where you want to make an understated statement.”
