Liz Earle £175 beauty advent calendar saves £401 on full-size skincare heroes
With mostly full-sized bestsellers behind its doors – including a £43 cleansing balm on day one – it’s one of the most generous beauty countdowns of the season
Beauty fans are likely familiar with Liz Earle, the British skincare brand behind the award-winning Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. And to the delight of its loyal fans, the brand has unveiled its new beauty advent calendar just in time for December.
The 24 Days of Liz Earle Beauty Advent Calendar (£175, Boots) boasts an impressive value of £576.60, saving shoppers £401.60. Packed with 24 products, most of which are full size, the calendar promises a generous mix of bestsellers and cult favourites, making it an enticing treat for both longtime devotees and those looking to discover the brand.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on the advent calendar in the run-up to Christmas to put its contents to the test. With such a high price tag and an even higher promised value, I was curious to see if it lived up to expectations. Keep reading to find out more.

My honest review of the Liz Earle beauty advent calendar
As a shopping writer, I’ve reviewed a fair few beauty advent calendars, so it takes a lot to impress me with presentation. But the Liz Earle calendar is truly gorgeous.
Decked out in a festive green, the tiered box opens out to reveal 24 individual doors spread across three sections. The boxes vary in size, but each is finished with glamorous gold sparkle that feels suitably festive.
Liz Earle 24 Days Of Liz Earle Beauty Advent Calendar

The Liz Earle 24 Date Advent Calendar features a luxurious line-up of skincare and bodycare.
And the first door opens to a winner (spoilers ahead): the Superskin Advanced Nourishing Cleansing Balm (worth £42.95 on its own). This silky-smooth formula has been on my radar for a while, having already fallen in love with Liz Earle’s iconic Cleanse & Polish.
Thankfully, it doesn’t disappoint. It leaves skin feeling beautifully soft, with a luxurious finish that reminds me of Elemis’ Collagen Cleansing Balm range. It also has a gorgeous, almost alpine scent that delivers a refreshing morning burst while feeling perfectly suited to Christmas.
The rest of the calendar follows suit, with a host of fantastic products to discover. Some are travel-sized, which I always find handy for testing new formulas or tossing into my cabin bag, but most are full-size – a bonus when considering the overall value.
I was pleased to find not one but two Cleanse & Polish cleansers, alongside another Cleanse & Glow edition. However, while I’m not complaining about having a stash of skincare staples to hand, four cleansers do feel like a little much for a single advent calendar.
I was also excited to try the Instant Boost Skin Tonic, a fan favourite that works hard to brighten and even out complexions. I’ve had bad experiences with harsh toners in the past, but so far, so good; the gentle formula leaves my skin feeling refreshed, not stripped.
A body cream and a couple of hand creams are also tucked inside, too, including the limited-edition Orange Flower scent. Everything smells divine and feels expensive, though that’s hardly surprising given Liz Earle’s reputation for premium skincare.
My only real gripe is the repetition. Alongside the multiple cleansers, there are two cotton cloths and an additional face cloth, which feels like a little overkill when 24 doors offer so much opportunity for variety.
I would have loved to see a few different categories represented, perhaps a hair treatment or even a miniature from the brand’s fragrance collection, to make the daily reveals feel a little more varied.
Even so, the products’ quality is consistently impressive. I’ve loved stocking up on old favourites while discovering a few new additions, and the calendar certainly makes a strong first impression. While I would have welcomed a little more variety, Liz Earle has put together a beautifully presented collection of skincare treats that feels every bit as luxurious as you’d hope.

Otherwise, Kiehl’s 24 Days of Kiehl’s Advent Calendar (£119) houses 24 of the brands bestsellers. That includes the Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash, Ultra Facial Cream and the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado.
