‘I adore Korean skincare and this underrated £17 cream gives me dewy skin everyday’

Our Beauty Writer has given this underrated Korean cream her seal of approval.

I am pretty sure I’m not the only person into Korean skincare right now. The beauty trend has seen a surge in popularity recently, dominating shelves and social media feeds everywhere.

Promising skin so smooth and hydrated it reflects glass, there’s a reason we’re all invested. With the warmer weather coming in, searches for products that deliver deep moisturisation will be on the rise, and I think I can come to the rescue with one recommendation.

While I know all about big hitting brands, such as COSRX and Medicube, I tried out a one I hadn’t heard just a few months ago on a complete whim. The product in question – the Purito Seoul Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream.

This underrated moisturiser has helped my dryer, sensitive skin, which can be prone to redness, to look the dewiest it ever has been before. While it does retail at £22 for a 100ml, Amazon currently has it on offer for £16.90, saving 23 percent off the RRP.

Considering I don’t hear many people raving over the Purito Seoul Might Bamboo Panthenol Cream as much as other brands, I have decided to take the lead and tell you all about exactly why I think it should be on your radar and where to buy it from.

A potent powerhouse that can do it all

Designed to strengthen the skin barrier, the Purito Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream aims to help reinforce moisture retention in the skin – which is exactly what someone like me needs, no matter the season.

Despite the formula initially looking quite thick, I was surprised to find it was as light as water, instantly melting into the skin, instantly leaving it plumped and smoother. In fact, I tried it on the back of my hand to prove a difference, noticing fine lines and dry patches were eradicated in one use.

This is down to the incredibly potent blend of ingredients, with the star of the show being, as the name suggests, panthenol, which doesn’t just help with hydration, but also works to target blemishes, acne scars and pigmentation.

Combined with squalene for a non-greasy texture, bamboo extract to support skin structure and elasticity and niacinamide to reduce redness, it’s an absolute powerhouse that can do it all, while also being suitable for all skin types.

It’s also worth mentioning that, if you have breakout-prone skin, then this Purito Cream has been dubbed a “real post-acne cream” due to its soothing formula that is free from pore-clogging ingredients, making it ideal to use as a post-recovery cream.

Literal glass skin all day, everyday

Since I have been using the Purito Seoul Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream, I have noticed a significant difference in my skin’s tone, texture and overall appearance. I have tried products in the past that promise glass skin, but trust me, this one delivers.

Its fast absorbing formula literally leaves no tacky or greasy residue on my skin, not to mention that, despite being lightweight, almost like water, I don’t need to use a lot to cover my whole face it is that hydrating, which means a 100ml tube will last a long time.

Literally as soon as I apply it every morning, and even in the evenings, my skin looks so smooth and hydrated, with fine, dry lines disappearing almost instantly. Since it’s non-comedogenic, it plays well with other skincare ingredients, such as vitamin C and retinol without causing any irritation, so you can further boost your anti-ageing glow.

That being said, on its own, this hydrating powerhouse gives your skin the dose of water it needs, while calming down any redness and acne scars. For me, I find that my skin remains with that enhanced glass skin glow literally all day and, quite frankly, I don’t think I would be without it.

I will admit that, even though this is not an issue I have encountered, a few reviews on Amazon have mentioned it might not be suitable for oily skin types, as it leads it to feel a little more greasier, which is worth considering.

As someone who writes about beauty, and more recently Korean skincare, then a few alternatives I could recommend would possible be the Dr Althea 147 Barrier Cream (50ml), currently £19.79 at Boots, or the bestselling Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream (100ml) that costs £29.49 at Superdrug.

However, if you’re looking for a moisturiser that will give dewy, glowing skin, all while helping to reduce redness and acne flareups, then my Purito Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream is the one to buy, which is why I have provided below where to grab yours.

K-beauty is everywhere and this particular moisturiser is one that has our Beauty Writer’s seal of approval. The water-light formula has been infused with bamboo extract and panthenol to soothe skin and redness, while the likes of squalene and vitamins provide that daily dose of hydration.

Where can I buy this underrated gem?

Since I first introduced the Purito Seoul Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream into my routine a few months ago, I genuinely don’t think my skin has look better. While it does take a few weeks of regular use to see the full benefits, I would say my skin looks less red, a whole lot smoother and dewy every single morning.

In fact, since I am close to finishing my first tube, I was on the hunt for some more, which led me to be surprised that it wasn’t really in stock in the UK. So far, I have only see it on offer on Amazon for £16.99, which is the cheapest deal.

Meanwhile, an alternative retailer is Boots, where the Korean moisturiser is a little bit dearer at £20, but it does offer another place to bag it while out on the high street.
